Computer Worlds
Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum Project
In just a few decades, computer technology has gradually permeated every aspect of our daily lives. What impact has this phenomenon had on art, design, and architecture? From the birth of generative art to NFTs, from data processing to 3D-printed objects, the exhibition “Computer Worlds” traces an international history of digital creation.
Spanning every medium and discipline, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the many relationships between physical, imagined, and virtual worlds. It gives voice to artists engaging with contemporary issues - such as AI and the relationships between machines and living beings - as well as the networks connecting ideas, images, and people. Through an innovative and critical lens, artists, designers, and architects invite us to explore these new worlds, whose history spans more than 75 years.
